Pneumatic press system with two press units mounted on a dog-hole workbench, machined on a Makera Carvera Air — build video

Pneumatic Clamps Built on the Makera Carvera Air Desktop CNC — Pneumatic Press System (Build Video)

What this build is

A custom pneumatic press system: two press units and a manual lever valve that mount to any workbench with 20mm dog holes. Pull the lever and both presses come down at once, holding the workpiece firmly. Each unit is built around a standard pneumatic cylinder, housed between custom-cut birch plywood panels, with precision-machined aluminum blocks forming the base and the top clamp.

What the video covers

  • Machining the aluminum base and clamp blocks on the Makera Carvera Air desktop CNC
  • Cutting the plywood housings
  • Plumbing the cylinders to a single lever valve
  • Mounting to the dog-hole bench and clamping a workpiece
