Shipping Update

Due to Middle East airspace closures, our partnered carriers are monitoring the situation closely. Some orders may experience delays as alternative routing options are being explored. Please track your shipment on our website for the latest status. Standard service guarantees do not apply to affected shipments. We appreciate your understanding.

At The Aluminum Carpenter, we strive to provide a smooth and efficient delivery experience for all our customers, both locally and internationally. Please review our shipping terms and conditions below to ensure you are familiar with our processes.

 

1. Local Shipping (Singapore)

*   Delivery Time: Orders within Singapore are typically processed and shipped within 1-3 business days. Delivery times are generally between 2-4 business days, depending on your location.

*   Shipping Fees: Shipping fees are calculated based on the destination, weight, and dimensions of the package. These fees will be displayed at checkout before you finalize your order. Free shipping may be available for some products, which will be indicated during the checkout process.

*   Delivery Provider: We currently use reliable local couriers to ensure timely and secure deliveries. You will receive tracking information once your order is shipped.

*   Failed Deliveries: In the event of a failed delivery due to incorrect address information or absence of the recipient, our courier may attempt a redelivery. Additional fees may apply for redelivery services.

 

2. International Shipping (Worldwide)

*   Delivery Time: International orders are typically processed within 1-3 business days. Delivery times vary depending on the destination, with an estimated delivery time of 3-21 business days. Please note that delivery times may be affected by customs clearance and other factors beyond our control.

*   Shipping Fees: Shipping fees are calculated based on the destination, weight, and dimensions of the package. These fees will be displayed at checkout before you finalize your order.

 

3. International Customs, Duties, and Taxes (Customer Responsibility)

By proceeding with checkout and completing your purchase, you explicitly acknowledge and agree to all terms in this section. No refunds or exceptions will be made for refusal to pay import duties, customs fees, or taxes.

 

This section is critical for international customers. By placing an order, you acknowledge and accept these terms.

 

For all international shipments, including those to the United States:

*   Your Responsibility: You, the recipient, are the sole importer of record and are 100% liable for ALL import duties, customs fees, Value Added Tax (VAT), Goods and Services Tax (GST), brokerage fees, and any other charges levied by your country's authorities.

*   U.S. Tariffs: This explicitly includes U.S. Customs duties and any additional tariffs (such as those imposed under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974) that may apply to the imported goods.

*   Our Role: The Aluminum Carpenter has no control over these charges, cannot predict their amount, and does not collect them at checkout. They will not appear on your invoice.

*   Payment: These fees are typically collected by the shipping carrier (e.g., DHL, FedEx, UPS) or your local customs office upon delivery or before the shipment is released.

*   Information: We recommend contacting your local customs office to understand potential fees before ordering.

 

4. Special Notice for European Union (EU) Customers

We are not registered for the EU Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS). This means we do not collect EU VAT at checkout.

If you are ordering from a country within the European Union, please be aware of the following specific import charges that will apply to your order upon arrival in your country:

*   Import VAT: Charged at your country's local rate (e.g. Germany 19%, France 20%, Netherlands 21%). This is collected by your local carrier before or upon delivery.

*   Carrier Administration / Disbursement Fee: Your carrier will charge an administration fee for processing the customs clearance on your behalf. This is typically €5–€15 depending on your carrier.

*   New €3 Customs Duty per Item Type (from 1 July 2026): The EU is removing the €150 customs duty exemption. From 1 July 2026, a flat €3 customs duty per tariff heading (item type) applies to all low-value parcels entering the EU from outside the EU. If your order contains more than one product type, multiple €3 charges may apply.

 

All of the above charges are the sole responsibility of the recipient and must be paid to your local carrier before or upon delivery. By placing your order, you acknowledge and accept these charges. We are unable to refund orders that are refused at customs due to non-payment of these fees.

 

5. Consequences of Refusing Delivery Due to Import Fees

Important: Refusing a shipment because of import fees is considered a breach of your responsibility as the importer.

*   The package will be returned to our facility in Singapore.

*   The original shipping cost paid is non-refundable.

*   All return shipping, customs, and handling fees incurred will be deducted from any eligible merchandise credit for the returned items.

*   No cash refunds will be issued for refused international shipments.

 

6. Shipping Insurance

All packages are shipped without insurance by default. Our liability ends upon acceptance of the package by the carrier (SingPost, DHL, or UPS). We will not be held responsible for goods lost or damaged in transit once the shipment has been accepted by the carrier.

For customers who wish to protect their purchase against loss or damage during transit, shipping insurance is available upon request. Insurance costs are borne by the buyer and will be quoted based on the declared value of the shipment. Please contact us at admin@thealuminumcarpenter.com before completing your order to request insurance coverage.

We strongly recommend purchasing shipping insurance for orders with a declared value above SGD 150. Please note that once an order has been placed and shipped without insurance, we are unable to retroactively add coverage.

 

7. General Shipping Information

*   Order Processing: Please ensure all shipping details are correct at checkout. We cannot be held responsible for delays or non-delivery due to incorrect information provided by the customer.

*   Tracking Information: Once your order is shipped, you will receive tracking details so you can monitor the progress of your delivery.

*   Shipping Delays: While we aim to deliver within the specified timeframes, external factors such as weather conditions, public holidays, and customs clearance may cause delays. We appreciate your understanding in such cases.
