What do I get when I buy a design?
A digital download: the real project file we built from. The zip file holds:
- The full 3D model (STEP and Shapr3D), with every part drawn, labelled and organised
- The material list
- Product links for the parts
- Drilling diagrams
- On some designs, DXF files, PDF drawings and STLs for the printed parts
The files each design includes are listed on its product page. Nothing is shipped.
How do I get my files?
Right after payment you are taken to your download link. Click the download button and save the zip file to your computer. If the download does not start, right-click the download button and choose to save the file.

Which software opens the files?
We recommend Shapr3D. You are not restricted to it: the STEP file opens in Autodesk Fusion and in most other 3D modelling software.
Is there an instruction manual?
No. You build from the 3D model and the files in the zip, which show every part and where it goes. The build video on our YouTube channel is the next help: watch how we built it.
Can anyone build these?
Yes. Follow the plans well and it can be done.
Where do I get the materials?
- The product links in your download point to the parts we used.
- Cut-to-length extrusion from us, cut to your millimetre.
- The Precision Jigs each design needs are listed on its product page.
- For some designs we sell a full kit with everything cut and packed.
Can I change the size of a design?
Yes. You may stretch, alter and amend the design to fit your own dimensions.
Can you design something from scratch for me?
Yes, but we need full and specific information before we can start. Tell us exactly what you want to build, the overall size in millimetres, what it must hold or carry, where it will stand and how you will use it, plus any machine, tool or part it has to fit around. Sketches, photos or reference pictures help. Without that detail we cannot draw it or quote it. Every custom design is quoted per project. Contact us.
Can I sell what I build, or share the files?
You may build the design and sell what you make. The files themselves stay our copyright. They are licensed to you for your own use only: you may not copy, share, resell, publish or pass them on, and you may not sell the files or any design derived from them.
Do I get updates?
Yes. When we improve a design's files, such as the material list, you get the updated files at no charge.
Can I get a refund?
All sales are final. Digital files cannot be returned once they have been delivered. If a download does not work, email us your order number and we will sort it out.
Do you work in inches?
No. We work in the metric system only. Every design, dimension and part is metric. One inch is 25.4mm.
You are not stuck with metric though. In the software you choose to open the 3D model with, you can switch the units and read every measurement in imperial if you prefer.
