3D Printer Rack Designs In Aluminum Extrusion
We have designed, built and filmed three 3D printer racks, each in aluminum extrusion and a fusion of materials. Every one is available as a design download: the full 3D model in STEP and Shapr3D, a cut list, drilling diagrams showing which jig goes where, and links to the exact hardware we used.
Which Rack Suits You
- Studio Rack. A 3.3 metre aluminum extrusion workbench built to be the permanent home of an entire 3D print farm. More than 900 individual components, concealed wiring, lighting running inside the extrusion, a grounded frame, bolted to the wall.
- 3D Printer Rack V2. Built-in enclosures for multiple printers, a spacious drawer for supplies, and a dedicated exhaust system that removes printing fumes from every printer.
- 3D Printer Rack V1. The original: built-in enclosures for multiple printers and a spacious drawer for supplies.
Watch Them Being Built
- Studio Rack: the full print farm build
- Ultimate 3D Printer Rack, Part 2: frame, drawer and magnetic doors
- Ultimate 3D Printer Rack, Part 3: built-in enclosures and exhaust
What You Need To Build One
The plans tell you every length to cut and every hole to drill. The joints are blind joints, a bolt driven through one extrusion into a threaded hole in the other, completely hidden. Our precision jigs put those holes exactly where they must go with a hand drill. The drilling diagrams in each download show which jig each joint calls for.
