When used with the appropriate tapping fluid, these bits make it easy to create threaded holes at the ends of aluminum extrusion. With tapped ends on your aluminum extrusion, you can apply 'blind joints' to your project, reducing the need for external brackets and enhancing the aesthetic value of your structure.
These bits are the easiest to work with and have the lowest risk of breakage. They can be used with a cordless hand drill or a hand tap tool, though the wiser choice is to use a cordless hand drill. Each tapping bit comes with a sleeve for attachment to your drill chuck. Higher speeds on the hand drill is possible, and the chips normally exits the hole in strands.
Take note during usage to apply sufficient tapping fluid with each pass. Withdraw the tapping bit whenever there is a chip buildup, and allow the tapping bit to cool down if it becomes too hot. Clamping down your extrusion is absolutely critical.
